The MFV Evelyn Marie from Killybegs sank off the exact same spot off Rathlin O’Beirne island on January 7, 1975 with the loss of its six crew – Hugh Gallagher, Johnny O’Donnell, Roland Faughnan, Tom Ham and Joe O’Donnell.
Helena Gallagher set up a website in memory of her father, Hughie Gallagher, and all the other fishermen who lost their lives at sea on the Evelyn Marie and Carraig Una. Helena gave permission for some pictures to be used on this website. That website contains some great information, interviews and Helena’s award-winning radio documentary “Searching for Answers“. The website address is http://www.evelynmarie1975.com/
